This qualification forms part of the Qualsafe Awards (QA) Prehospital Care suite of qualifications.

Over this 5 day hands-on course, the training includes topics like emergency oxygen administration, trauma patient management, and addressing major illnesses, among other crucial skills.

All FREC3 courses are delivered by experienced 999 professionals, including Paramedics and Police Officers.

Who is this course for?

This course is for people who are often the first to respond to a possible medical emergency. This encompasses Police, Firefighters, and medical staff at festivals and events. It also includes Emergency/Community First Responders, Door Supervisors, Close Protection Operatives, and Security Guards.

Individuals working in high-risk environments are also catered for. These environments include the military, power stations, agriculture, and manufacturing facilities.

Course Objective

The objective of the qualification is to benefit learners by enabling them to attain the knowledge and practical competencies needed to deal with a range of prehospital emergency care situations.

What is Included?

1. Online Pre-Learning

During the course, there is a lot of content to cover. We know that some prefer to have longer to process this information. Therefore, we have created an online learning course, which can be completed prior to the course. It complements the course itself, and includes things like:

  • Clarification around course contents
  • The human body
  • Patient assessment
  • Capacity and consent
  • Responder equipment

The pre-course learning is available for 1 year after the date of your course.

2. Booking Call

One of the qualified trainers will get in contact to book in a call. The call includes:

  • Ensuring you have full access to the online pre-learning
  • Explaining travel options, if you’re unsure
  • Answering any questions about the course, it’s content, or relevant topics

3. Course Pack

On the first day, you will receive a course pack, with everything you need.

Assessment and Certification

Assessment

  • 6 x Practical Assessments
  • 3 x Multi-Choice Theory Tests
  • 1 x Anatomy and Physiology Test

Certification

  • Around 10 working days after the end of the course, successful learners will receive their certificate via email. It will be a downloadable PDF.
  • The certification is Qualsafe Level 3 Award in First Response Emergency Care (RQF)
