The Qualsafe Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) (RQF) is designed for anyone who wants to become a trained emergency first aider.
This course gives you the essential skills to respond quickly, safely and effectively in a range of workplace incidents.
It meets Health and Safety Executive (HSE) requirements and provides reassurance that your workplace has trained staff prepared for emergencies.
Course outcomes
By the end of this course, you will:
- Understand the roles and responsibilities of an emergency first aider.
- Be able to assess an incident.
- Be able to manage an unresponsive casualty.
- Be able to provide CPR and use an automated external defibrillator.
- Be able to place a casualty in the recovery position.
- Be able to deal with choking.
- Be able to manage seizures.
- Be able to recognise and provide first aid for shock.
- Be able to treat wounds and bleeding.
- Be able to provide first aid for minor injuries including cuts, grazes, bruises, minor burns and scalds.
