Basic Life Support – 19th Oct in Northampton

This face to face half-day Qualsafe Level 3 Award in Basic Life Support for Adults, Children and Infants in Clinical Practice (RQF) is for people working in clinical practice at any level.

It gives learners the hands-on practical skills to recognise emergencies and deliver safe, effective basic life support for adults, children and infants, including CPR, AED use, care of the unresponsive casualty and choking management.

Taught by clinicians who understand clinical practice

Our clinically experienced trainers have been practising as clinicians, healthcare professionals and training clinical and social care teams for over 10 years. They bring real-world insights to the course, helping you link current resuscitation guidelines with the decisions, pressures, and teamwork involved in everyday clinical practice.

Certified and regulated

Upon successful completion, learners will receive a one-year Ofqual-regulated qualification, which is suitable for professional portfolios and can serve as evidence for CQC training within regulated services.

Designed for real clinical environments

The course is designed for real clinical environments, with practical teaching that helps staff leave confident, capable and ready to put their skills into practice.

It is suitable for mixed clinical teams, including primary care, community, outpatient and other healthcare settings where staff may need to respond to patients of different ages.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to bring photo ID?

Yes. Our awarding body requires all learners to show photo identification during registration. This supports awarding-body and Ofqual requirements. Your work photo ID is accepted. We may ask even if you have trained with us before, as the trainer delivering your course may not know you personally.

Is free parking available?

Yes. Free parking is available at the venue.

Are there any nearby facilities?

Yes. There is a shop close to the venue if you need refreshments or anything during the day.

Do I need to complete anything before the course?

Yes. As part of self-registration, all learners must read and agree to the Learner Agreement. This includes telling us about any injury, illness or health condition, whether temporary or long-term, that could affect your ability to take part in any part of the course.

How long is my certificate valid for?

The Qualsafe Basic Life Support certificate is valid for 12 months from the date you complete the course. You will need to complete reassessment each year to maintain your certification.

What practical skills will I need to demonstrate?

During the course, you will need to demonstrate practical skills including CPR, AED use, choking management and the recovery position. These activities involve working at ground level, so you need sufficient mobility to complete the practical assessment safely.

What if I have an injury, illness or additional need?

Please tell us during registration. We will review the information with you and consider what reasonable adjustments or support may be possible. Do not leave this until the day if it is likely to affect your participation. Early notice gives us the best chance to plan properly and avoid disappointment.

What happens if I cannot complete the practical assessment?

You can still attend the session and complete the theory element. However, if you cannot complete the required practical assessment, you cannot be awarded the regulated qualification. In that situation, we can issue a Certificate of Achievement to confirm your attendance and theory completion. This is not equivalent to the regulated Basic Life Support qualification.
