Multi-day pre-hospital emergency care for frontline responders

This course is a step up from workplace first aid and is designed for those who respond to more serious medical and trauma incidents.

It develops structured patient assessment, enhanced first aid and pre-hospital care skills that align with current UK event and ambulance sector expectations for non-registered clinicians.

Perfect for higher-risk and frontline environments

This multi-day course is ideal for event medics, security and nightlife staff, and others working in higher-risk or remote settings where basic first aid is not enough.

Pre-hospital patient assessment

Carry out structured scene and primary assessments, form an initial impression and identify time-critical problems.

Airway and breathing management

Manage airway and breathing using appropriate manual techniques and adjuncts permitted at FREC 3 level.

CPR and early defibrillation

Perform high-quality CPR and use an AED as part of a pre-hospital resuscitation attempt.

Catastrophic haemorrhage control

Apply tourniquets, haemostatic dressings and wound packing techniques to control life-threatening bleeding.

Management of medical emergencies

Recognise and support patients with conditions such as chest pain, breathing problems, stroke, seizures, anaphylaxis and diabetic issues.

Trauma care and immobilisation

Assess and manage common trauma including head, spinal, chest, abdominal and limb injuries using appropriate splinting and supportive measures.

Patient movement and extrication considerations

Work safely around vehicles, venues and crowds, and support patient movement within your scope of practice.
