The Qualsafe Level 3 Award in Allergy and Anaphylaxis Awareness is designed for staff, governors and volunteers working in schools and educational settings who have responsibility for the care, supervision, and safety of children and young people.
It meets mandatory allergy safety requirements under the Children's Wellbeing and Schools Act 2026 in place from 1st September 2026 - also known as Benedict's Law.

This 2.5 hour course is designed to support all staff (including teachers, governors, volunteers, caretakers, youth clubs, mini-bus drivers, lunchtime supervisors, etc) to understand allergy awareness and respond to anaphylaxis emergencies.

Who is this course for?
This course is designed for people working or volunteering in schools and educational settings who may need to recognise allergic reactions, respond to anaphylaxis or asthma, and support the safe management of allergies.
It is particularly suitable for:

The course supports schools in responding to the new allergy safety duties introduced by the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Act 2026, including requirements around allergy safety policies and staff training.
It also reflects the Department for Education’s Allergy safety in schools statutory guidance, which sets out what schools in England must do to support pupils with allergies.
